falafel is considered one of the most popular food in arabic world. In fact, you can buy it from any arabic restaurant next to you, but there's nothing to compare with home made food, so i decide to put my own recipe for preparing falafel to help people to make a perfect plate .
Many of you may not know that there are many types of falafel, and they differ according to countries and cultures . we will start with syrian falafel, which is unanimously considered as one of the best falafel in arabic world, and we will mention the other species separately in future articles and if you have any special requests or inquiries, leave them in the comments below the article , we will respond you with pleasure.
Now, lets go to work step by step.
Ingredients :
- Package of fresh parsley.
- kilo of chickpeas pre-soaked in water for the entire day.
- Four crushed garlic cloves.
- Big spoon of cumin powder.
- Big spoon of salt.
- Big spoon of sodium bicarbonate.
- Big spoon of mashed coriander.
- An adequate amount of vegetable oil for frying.
falafel preparation method :
- Grind chickpeas and parsley well with an automatic mill or electric mixer until having smooth dough.
- Put the chickpeas and parsley dough in a deep, suitable bowl.
- Add coriander, salt, cumin, garlic and sodium bicarbonate.
- Knead the ingredients together well.
- Heat the oil in a appropriate sized frying pan.
- Use a falafel mold or by hand and form equal balls of dough prepared previously as mentioned.
- Fry the falafel kernels in oil one by one until the whole amount is finished.
- Remove the falafel kernels from the oil after they have a golden or brownish color.
- Put the falafel kernels in suitable dishes for presentation.
